If you're rolling a fresh Barbarian in Season 13, Hammer of the Ancients is still the kind of build that gets moving without asking for perfect drops. You don't need a stash full of rare gear or a tricky setup to make it work. Keep your weapon current, watch your Fury, and the build starts to feel good fast. It also scales nicely as better gear and Diablo IV Items begin to show up, which is why so many players keep coming back to it for leveling.
Why the build feels strong early
The appeal is pretty simple. Hammer of the Ancients hits hard in one clean swing, and that matters when you're moving through dungeons, Strongholds, and seasonal zones. Bash is a steady early generator, especially while Fury still feels tight. Once you unlock the better Hammer upgrades, packs start dropping much faster.
